We used the services of this vet for 1 year - 2022; unfortunately the policies that the owner Dr. Barry has do not align with my perspective on vet charges. We have used vets for over 40 years in NS - however, this was our 1st encounter with a vet who charges an additional $50. on top of the regular vet charge for a same day appointment. The receptionist who you speak with to book a same day appt will tell you that they are fully booked (I was told for 2 weeks for my last appointment). |However, upon taking our pet to his clinic - I noted 1 vehicle in the parking lot - inside there were no people in the waiting area - on the way to an appt room, I noted multiple rooms with no one in them. Clearly, they were not fully booked that afternoon. I had a chat with the vet, who had our appt and asked why, given the struggles that people were having with grocery prices through the roof, heat and gas prices through the roof, that this vet was overcharging for an appt fee, when the office was not over-booked. The response that I received was "I don't make the policies". At the end of the appt - vet wasn't able to diagnose the issue with our pet - I went to reception and was met with a $228.00 vet bill. I decided then and there that was the last appt with that vet. Shortly thereafter, I received a letter from the owner stating that they would no longer be providing services to our pet and to find another vet. He could have saved the stamp - that process was already in the works. I will also note here, two additional items; the 1st, we had already spent thousands of dollars in the vet, this year alone; and 2nd, we encountered no issues with the staff. We were no longer willing to over-contribute to his pension funds - charity begins at home! Would not recommend!

We found the staff and one of the veterinarians to be non-responsive and unsympathetic. After our dog was diagnosed with cancer, we followed up with phone calls on three consecutive days asking for the vet to call us to answer some questions on his condition. Calls were not returned. We ended up taking our dogs to a different clinic.
